ROCHESTER, NY, USA- AMETEK Power Instruments-a recognized leader in power measurement and recording instrumentation used by the electric power and manufacturing industries-now offers the ability to automatically retrieve and export logger data from its recorders to the Power Quality Data Interchange Format (PQDIF).
Through innovative, cutting-edge technology, AMETEK consistently designs and manufactures best-in-class products and provides solution-driven results. In the latest enhancements to its power quality and fault recording product lines, AMETEK has automated the retrieval of steady-state logger values to aide in the study of harmonics, flicker, RMS and a variety of other parameters.
Data now is available automatically to create internal reports or to document compliance and regulatory requirements. In addition to AMETEK's native format, that data can now also be stored in the industry standard PQDIF format (IEEE standard 1159.3) allowing use of third-party applications, such as the PI Historian from OSISoft for archiving and reporting and a COMTRADE Utility from SISCO for extracting data; further maximizing the value of the AMETEK recorders and the data supplied by them.
Utilities can reduce capital costs by maximizing use of steady-state logger data from the AMETEK fault and power quality recorders and eliminating the need for dedicated power quality devices and chart recorder replacements. Installation costs are reduced by eliminating need to wire multiple devices.
AMETEK Power Instruments offers the most extensive line of fault recorders, annunciators, and power measurement products in the electric power industry and is a unit of AMETEK, Inc., a leading manufacturer of electronic instruments and electric motors with annualized sales of more than $1.5 billion.
